Three cartridges, each with a clear purpose
Prepares the water and protects the membrane
F1 uses several media layers to capture larger particles, address finer sediment, help reduce chlorine and VOCs, and slow scale formation before water reaches the membrane.
The precision stage at the heart of the system
Water is pushed through the 0.0001 micron reverse osmosis membrane. This stage is designed to help reduce dissolved solids and contaminants that carbon filtration alone cannot address.
Finishes the water for a more balanced taste
After the RO membrane, F3 adds minerals back into the treated water and returns the pH to 7.5 or higher before it reaches the dedicated faucet.

The stage count is based on the three cartridges you can see and replace. Inside them, seven filtration layers work in sequence.

The Guardian has three cartridges, not nine. The seven layers are the individual media layers inside those cartridges.
Two parts purified water for every one part sent to drain
Traditional reverse osmosis systems can send more water to drain than they deliver for drinking. The Guardian turns that relationship around with a 2:1 purified water to drain ratio.
This comparison is intentionally simple. It shows the actual ratio without turning it into an inflated efficiency claim.
Actual water use varies with feed pressure, temperature, incoming water quality, and household demand.
